Lessons With Cal

Callum is an incredible teacher who tailors his teaching on a student by student basis. Never do I feel like I am getting a run of the mill singing lesson as we have fun while making a conscious effort to target my areas for improvement. As an aspiring singer in a band I have felt twice as confident and versatile since we have started our lessons. And I only expect that to improve even further!

Callum is a great coach. HIs first question was about what I wanted from his sessions so they were all completely tailored to my needs which was very useful. Callum is great at picking out small details in my voice and speaking in general which I didn't notice myself. He's very professional yet approachable and helps you feel comfortable very quickly. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to improve their public speaking or general social/speaking skills.

Cal is an exceptional musician and teacher. His lessons have transformed my son’s confidence musically and beyond. He adores attending his lessons and he feels the feedback and teaching Cal provides enables him to progress and grow. Cal is a great teacher. My daughter has been going to him for 3 sessions so far and her confidence, style and technique have already improved 100%. Cal has a goody bag of vocal exercises and tips and moulds the lessons entirely around what my daughter wants to achieve whilst guiding her through a range of techniques for making her vocal and self comfortable. Allowing her to express herself and assisting her to open up blockages that they find along the way. Cal encourages connection and emotion in her vocals which is such a valuable release tool for any one but I think it is really helping my daughter connect with herself and her feelings. She is 16. Cal has quickly identified areas of strength and weakness and produced a vocal map to pinpoint her range at this moment in time. I would highly recommend Cal. He is a very kind and welcoming warm character who finds all sorts of incredible ways to bring the best out of vocals. I have no doubt that he would be just as great and encouraging with the other lessons he provides also. Defo a 5⭐️😁👍

Cal is a fantastic teacher who’s helped me improve both my acoustic and electric guitar playing, as well as gain confidence in singing. He’s patient, encouraging, and has really helped me develop better vocal technique and control. I’ve made real progress with him and can’t recommend him highly enough!

I've been having guitar lessons with Cal for over two years now. He is such a patient teacher, so friendly and makes you feel at ease, which is so important when learning an instrument, he really helps you focus and get in the 'zone'. He tailors his lessons to every student and their own individual goals. I've been pursuing guitar as a hobby and Cal has always made our lessons engaging. He has a very pro setup for any students wishing to create and perform music, but is also excellent with beginners of any age. Learning with Cal is not just about becoming proficient with an instrument - it's a real personal investment.

I have had lessons with Callum for around 3 years now. He has helped me massively improve my vocal range and tone through different practices and rehearsals. His musical knowledge has also helped me understand the compositions of different types of music a lot better while also teaching me a lot about mixing too. I would highly recommend him as a vocal coach because he has flexible lesson times that can be arranged around your own schedule, grand musical intuition and he is very kind.

I came across Ripley Sounds on the internet as I have wanted to take up singing lessons for some time. I am very much a beginner and was not sure where to start. I met Callum and felt comfortable with him straight away, my main issue is my confidence but Callum is helping me work on that and it definitely improving week by week, I am now finding myself wanting to sing more and more! We sing along to various instruments which I love so nothing is limited. Callum explains everything well and is happy to go through anything step by step just so I have a better understanding. I have been singing with Callum now for approximately 3 months and I can already tell the difference but the most important thing for me is that I am really enjoying myself, I really can not recommend Ripley Sounds anymore.

Cal is both an exceptional teacher and an exceptional human being. It’s clear in every lesson that teaching is his passion and the learning of his students comes before anything else in his mind. Unlike a lot of teachers, Cal can teach you almost anything music related, from instruments to vocals to mixing to band performance. He could charge a lot more money than he does and it would still represent incredible value.
